Mommy WOW I'm a BIG Boy Now!!

Andrew has been so Independent lately. He loves to figure out how things work, and he copies EVERYTHING! It is so much fun, he is learning so much everyday! This week he has started randomly refusing to eat when I feed him, and he also will not feed himself from his tray. He wants me to put the food on the Fork then put the fork in his hand, so he can feed himself. Silly Boy.

He got this super cute airplane for his Birthday (because ever since he was a tiny baby, every time he hears an airplane over head he looks up and follows it across the sky) Turns out it is actually a remote control toy (we just never put batteries in it) It has a forward and backward arrow, and HE LOVES IT! He is so smart, he watch Brian play with it then took it from him, sat down, and started playing with it all by himself! (sorry the video is sideways, I couldn't figure out how to fix it)

Clifford is ALIVE and WELL!!

Remember my 1st car Clifford? You know the "Big Red Dawg"? Well I sold him last year, because it was time to grow up and get a car that was baby appropriate. So I found a good home and sold him to a girl that is going to SUU. I felt ok about it because I figured that is where Covertible cars go to "retire". Somewhere warm, where the sun shines lots, and where he can be enjoyed by another crazy college student that will hopefully love him half as much as I did. Well tears ran down my face as Cifford drove off into the sunset, and I figured I would never see him again.

Fast forward to today, where I get a text from my brother in law Ben. He is a mechanic in Orem. He starts asking me questions about Clifford, like the kind of stuff memories are made of, that make him unique. Then I get this Picture message from Ben...

Clifford is ALIVE & WELL!! Ben happened to get him in the shop to do Saftey and Emissions! I actually teared up, seeing him again, and knowing that he has been well taken care of. So hooray for 1st cars and all the wonderful things you get to experience in them. I will always love you Clifford, and I am glad to see you are doing well.

Balloon Baby!

I got Brian this Balloon for his Birthday. Brian liked it, but it has provided Hours upon Hours of entertainment for Andrew and I. We sit in the front room and watch it go up and down and hit it around. Andrew loves to wrap the ribbon around his hands and flail them around so the Balloon goes crazy! He sits and Laughs, and I laugh too! I sure love this little boy!

*Ignore my nasty-ness*

This was after a very adventurous feeding, contrary to how it looks, Sweet Potatoes were a SUCCESS!!

Quote:
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.
It is not just in some; it is in everyone.

And, as we let our own light shine, we consciously give
other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our fear,
our presence automatically liberates others."

The Things That Keep Me Awake At Night

So anyone that knows me will tell you that I sometimes think random thoughts. As I was laying in bed last night (unable to sleep with the excitement/anxiety of Andrew's blessing on Sunday) I started to ponder really deep things, things I thought might be worth sharing with other people, over a public blog, even if it is only for pure amusement.

  1. Is it ever possible to eat your weight in hotdogs? Before you answer too hastily, let me explain... For each hotdog you eat, you then gain the weight of the hotdog, therefore making it impossible to ever eat your current weight in hotdogs. make sense?

  2. Why is the 3rd hand on a watch called the "second" hand?

  3. Doesn't "expecting the unexpected" make the unexpected expected?

  4. What Color do Smurfs turn when you choke them?

  5. Why does "wise man" and "wise guy" mean opposite things?

  6. Why is Bra singular and Panties plural?

  7. Why is it called "after dark" when it is actually after light?

  8. Why do we wash bath towels? Aren't we clean when we use them?

  9. Why do we sing, "Take me out to the Ball Game" when we are already there?

  10. Why did Pia go home on American Idol before Stefano and Jacob??

  11. Why won't Vinny and Snooki just get married and have little Guido babies?

  12. The speed limit in School Zones is the optimal speed for pedophiles...why would anyone do that?

  13. Why is it that when you are growing up you always think you are fat until you are older and look back at pictures and realize how thin you actually were?!

  14. Why is it not mandatory to put hooks on the back of the door in each bathroom stall? (Thanks, but no thanks, I don't want to set my coat and purse on the floor of a restroom)

  15. How did humans make it to the top of the food chain? When pretty much every other animal is born they can do 90% of what the adult animal can do, but human babies are completely dependant for YEARS?

  16. Why is there Braille on the number keys at ATM's?? (if they are blind they shouldn't be driving)

  17. Why do people wear socks with their sandals? (its basically a mullet for your feet)

There are many more random things to post, but I think I have shared enough for now.

P.S. if you want to come to Andrew's Blessing on Sunday text/call me at

He Thinks He is a Human!

Prepare yourself for a random post...

I never thought I would be one of those people that posts about a pet but here I go...

So my mom has this Long Haired Tea Cup Chahuahua....His name is Puppy-Puppy (it is kinda messed up because he will never get any bigger than a puppy) anyway, he has always been treated like a human, and I don't think he understands he is actually a dog. Ever since my mom moved in with Brian and I he is always following us around (while my mom is at work) Well the other day Brian and I were watching a movie and laying on the couch, and I looked on the floor next to the couch and saw that Puppy-Puppy was using one of our throw pillows as a pillow. Just like a person would! He was just laying there watching T.V. too! It cracked me up so I took a picture....Enjoy!

Good Intentions

Good Intentions...I am full of them, and I hear the road to hell is paved with them.

There are many things I really want to do, and am planning to do, but have yet to get done. Things like, Keeping a pregnancy journal, sewing misc. projects, cleaning and painting the baby's room, redecorating our bedroom, blogging everyday in August following the fun list (that lasted like 3 days lol) water aerobics, planting flowers that will come up next spring, cleaning out the garage, scrapbooking, sending out cards to people I have been thinking about, and the list goes on and on. So sorry if I don't accomplish all the things you expect me to, bare with me I am trying the best I can.

A photo that makes me sad/angry

In 1993 the sound of soft, high-pitched whimpering near the village of Ayod attracted Kevin Carter (photographer) to an emaciated Sudanese toddler. The girl had stopped to rest while struggling to a feeding center, whereupon a vulture had landed nearby.Carter snapped the haunting photograph and chased the vulture away. However, he came under criticism for just photographing — and not helping — the little girl. Carter had won the most coveted prize for photojournalism. Carter was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography on May 23, 1994. Tragically 2 months later, Carter took his own life, stating in a note, "I am depressed...I am haunted by the vivid memories of killings and corpses and anger and pain ... of starving or wounded children, of trigger-happy madmen, often police, of killer executioners..."

This photo breaks my heart, to know that people, especially children, live like this.
